Colour conveys powerful messages. Colour affects us all physically, mentally and emotionally. All colours have both negative and positive effects and a person’s response to colour is subjective. But scientifically, it is the first thing that we register when we are assessing anything.
My friend just went on holiday to Spain and everything she took with her was BLACK. If it was work-wear we would say she was ‘professional’ and ‘authoritive’. If it was a little black dress for a party, we would say it was sophisticated.
Maybe you’re thinking that she wished to be viewed as mysterious or secretive?
In fact, on a sub-conscious level, it was a barrier of protection as she was suffering from low self-esteem as she was feeling overweight and a low mood, due to dis-harmony within her family.
She was using it to protect her from the outside world and hideaway her true feelings and emotions.
In fact, it’s draining and depressing.
The answer?
Wear it with another colour.
YELLOW – Is a joyful colour anyway, but when worn with black helps you feel happy, positive and optimistic.
PINK – Team it with pink if you are getting over an old relationship and are looking for new love.
RED – If you have lost a job, failed a test or exam, wear with red to boost your confidence.
ORANGE – Wish to open up new possibilities for friendship and opportunities wear it with orange.
PURPLE – Hoping for spiritual insight, wear black and purple together.
Also, did you know that a black cat crossing your path is considered bad luck in many cultures, except in England, where it is considered good luck.
